Dear Stonefliers,
We are pleased to invite you to participate the first official European Plecoptera Symposium!
The meeting will be hosted by the Hungarian Natural History Museum, in agreement with the Standing Committee of the International Society of Plecopterologists. With this event we would like to set up a regular conference like the North American Plecoptera Symposia: a low-budget meeting half-time between our International Symposia on Plecoptera, to strenght our community and to give place for subjects of regional interest.
To make it available also for students, we ask no registration fee. - thus, no souvenirs, but we can provide a certificate of participation and you will receive a pdf of the abstract book.
Schedule and deadline
Please note to avoid SPAMs we use _at_ instead of @ sign.
Presentations and workshops will be held on 17–18 September, in the Semsey Lecture Room of HNHM (Budapest, Ludovika ter 2.)
The Plecoptera Collection can be found in the Department of Zoology, held in our another building (Budapest, Baross u. 13). To visit before or after the symposium please make an appointment with Dávid Murányi (muranyi_at_nhmus.hu). You can find details on the collection here: HNHM Plecoptera Collection.doc
On 19–20 September, we will take a study trip to the High Tatras of Slovakia (Belá River, Tichá and Kôprová dolina), with the guidance of our Slovakian colleagues Erik Baláž and Tomás Derka.
Registration and Abstract Form can be download from here: EPS Registration and Abstract Form.doc
In order to finalize the Program and organize the field trip, please send back the Form to Dávid Murányi (muranyi_at_nhmus.hu) and Mónika Pozsgai (pozsgai.monika_at_nhmus.hu) by 31 August 2014, at latest.
Accomodation
Our Museum has two guest rooms in the Baross street building, suitable for those who wish to visit the Plecoptera Collection - please contact Mónika Pozsgai (pozsgai.monika_at_nhmus.hu) for booking.
In addition, we recommend to book your room in the Fehér Páva Hotel or the Hotel Bara.
The Fehér Páva is nearby to the Department of Zoology, and far the cheapest motel in the downtown. Hotel Bara is the one that some of you already know, as Stonefliers used to stay there during the European Congress of Entomology in 2010 - it is the easiest to reach for those who come by car, and we can gather in the nearby Avar Pub in the evenings.
In case you are coming alone but need to share a room for a low price, please write to Mónika Pozsgai (pozsgai.monika_at_nhmus.hu) and we will help to book in 4-bed-rooms.
For the trip to Slovakia, you should book in Hotel Akademik
Coffee & Food
As we ask no registration fee, participants have to pay their food and drinks. For lunch break during lecture days, we will book some tables in two restaurants nearby to the Ludovika buildings.
Coffee and non-alcoholic drinks are available in the Museum’s Coffee.
See you in Budapest!
Dávid Murányi PhD
Organizer
